The workshop organized by our French school in Montpellier will reveal all the secrets of the most emblematic French pastries. You will find out everything there is to know about “eclairs”, “choux à la crème”, “Mille-Feuilles” and other essential sweet pastries that have made French pastry so famous abroad. For more than an hour you will learn to recognize and enjoy the most typical specialities, and of course you can talk in French with other international students who are also there to take part in our language immersion program in the South of the France.
There is a Teacher there from our school to tell you all about the history of French pastry. You will hear about many exciting legends that exist around some of the emblematic traditions of this art. Some date back to many centuries. Did you know, for example, that ‘an eclair’ gets its name from the fact that “it is eaten in a Flash?” Or did you know that ‘madeleines’ come in the shape of a shell because that is how they were offered to the pilgrims on the Camino?
