Located just a few minutes by tram from the historic centre of Montpellier and from our French school, you will get to discover the aquarium Mare Nostrum right in the heart of the lively Odysseum shopping centre; have fun and relax with other students during your language stay.
Opened in 2007, the Aquarium in Montpellier is organized according to various geographical areas to be found in the world: The Pacific, Polynesia, Mediterranean, or Amazon… the tour lasts for about two hours and you will get to visit all the seas and oceans on our beautiful planet, learning about their biodiversity.

With more than 400 species to be found in the 2.9 million litres of water, as well as the many different things to do (conferences, animations, games, interactive terminals…) there is something for everyone. You can admire varied species of sharks, penguins, jellyfish or rays from one hemisphere to another, from one continent to the other.
You will be able to finish off your exploration of the marine world in high-tech storm a simulator as well as an innovative 3-d underwater explorer Simulator. In one you will get to feel like a brave sailor in the face of the elements and in the other an intrepid diver!
Paired with the planetarium, the aquarium offers a unique experience called “between sky and sea”. Thanks to virtual reality you will be immersed in the underwater world, where you will get to follow the movements of plankton, coral and colourful fish…
